Soy is a really unique fibre that requires very different care from other fibres such as alpaca, saran or angora.
Our resident fluffbeasts will help us show you how to care for your wigs. Its really very simple!

On the day that your wigs arrive home, please do not be alarmed if they look a little fluffed up from their long journey. While we endeavor to carefully pack every fluffbeast with a lot of love and care, sometimes mailmen can be a little rough with parcels. Fluffbeasts do not like to travel and may need a little coaxing and reassuring to return to their normal happy selves. The best thing to do is to carefully remove them from the box, give them a quick brush and pop them on the doll of your choice. Any kinks in the fibre will drop out during the time and the fibre will style much better after it has time to settle after transit. If you have any persistent kinks, you can try to brush them out or gently straighten them with human hair straighteners. |
One thing to note when watching these videos is that they were made by a person with a co-ordination condition and may seem a bit heavy handed, clumsy or awkward. Sorry about that!
Follow the steps along with the video.
Be careful when using brushes and combs near doll faceups and don't forget to always work with clean, dry hands or gloves.

A short video with the tools we use to style wigs on a day to day basis. If using metal combs near doll faces scares you, consider trying a soft bristle toothbrush!

STYLING THE LONG CUT
Step One: Shake the wig vigorously to loosen up any fibres that may be compressed from the shipping process
Step Two: Using a de-matting pet or designated doll brush, restore shine and smoothness to the wig. Don't forget to do the under layers.
Step Three: Position the wig on your doll. You can use poster tac or eye putty to secure the wig in place.
Step Four: A fine tooth comb, toothbrush or a pet flea comb can add a more natural hair like texture to your wig. This is our primary tool for styling and is definitely worth investing in.
Step Five: Use your fingers to gently pull out some layers if desired.

DEVON CUT
The Devon cut styling is very simple and quite self explanatory. Wigs
in this style are quite static and all that really needs to happen is
some fluffing with the fingers to achieve a desired texture. If you'd prefer
it smoother, simply comb through with a pet flea comb or brush and if
you want more texture, give it a good shake.

TACO CUT
The Taco cut is similar to the short cut with longer layers that frame the face.
You can style it downwards instead of brushed to the side.
Like the Devon cut you can also texturise it with fingers or a good shake or Comb smooth as per the video.

ROSCOE CUT
The Roscoe cut is the only style that includes a braid but you can opt to have one without it.
The Roscoe cut is definitely asymmetrical with a lengthier side panel and a much shorter layered opposite side.
Make sure you fan out the fibres on the short side. This will really help make the wig look edgier and much more lifelike.

The lionhead is a fun and versatile cut, inspired by an old bunny that has passed away.
The lionhead is essentially a cross between a sweepback and a long style but the beauty is that you can create an awful lot of volume by pulling the swept back side over the top of the long side as seen in the video. This one does require a comb or brush to execute well but it does look very nice simply kept with its two separate halves if you fluff up the fibres with your fingers as well.
